You need a real Prince! I know because I had one until he left this world. After all, St. Valentine's Day is for lovers and love doesn't come inside a heart shaped box of candy. It comes every morning when you've got sleep in your eyes and your hair is a mess. It's the sound of your other half getting up in the middle of the night when the baby is crying. It's someone drawing you a scented bubble bath, it's a dance in the kitchen, a whisper, a touch...and so much more.
You just can't depend on Prince Not-So-Charming. Too many women already live with someone like him.
So, if you've got a real Prince, and you give or get candy, here's what I think:
I think each candy should have a little note attached to it...sort of like those in a fortune cookie. The Maple cream should come with a promise of breakfast in bed, pancakes, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, and sausage. The orange cream could promise a bubble bath with citrus scented candles. The raspberry cream (my personal favorite) should promise a full body massage lasting an hour. But most of all you should share it...all of it everyday with someone who truly loves you.
Happy St. Valentine's Day,
